Hey there! I’m Mjoy, a teen, self-taught artist based on the Sunshine Coast, Australia. I’ve loved drawing since I was a little girl, but my art journey truly blossomed when I started homeschooling and had the freedom to focus on my passion. Creating this business has helped me achieve my goal of making my art into a career!

My inspiration for art and storytelling comes from the thrilling narratives of comics and animation and the quiet beauty of the Australian bushland surrounding my cottage home. Nature, especially birds, holds a special place in my heart; I’m endlessly fascinated by the beauty God has woven into the world, and He truly inspires my ability to create. My wonderful relationships with my friends and family have inspired my unique characters and stories, and encouraged me in my passion.

I primarily work with alcohol markers and colored pencils, as well as digital art, but I love to experiment with watercolour, gouache, and acrylics occasionally – I’m especially interested in learning photography and clay sculpture! Like the comics and animations I admire, my style is cartoony, playful, and full of character. I adore using bright, joyful colours, making my art expressive and unique. While I draw inspiration from everywhere, I enjoy filtering it through my own vision, making my art flexible and experimenting with my own flair.

My goal when creating is always to bring joy to others through my art. Whether it’s through a colourful sticker, a lively print, or a fun character, I want my art to spark happiness and connection. I’ve built this business around my designs and characters, with big dreams of publishing my own comic series and potentially diving into animation. I also love connecting with fellow art lovers and creatives – let’s build a community and inspire each other!

It’s been an exciting journey so far, including winning the Sunshine Coast local student art prize in 2024 and successfully selling packs of my own Aussie Christmas cards. Thank you for joining me on this creative adventure. I hope my art brings you joy!

Love, Mjoy xx
